Description

Cortex is looking for a Staff Frontend Engineer to join their team. This role involves leading complex projects from start to finish, crafting high-performance frontend features, and enhancing the codebase. The engineer will also drive engineering process improvements, partner with product and support teams, and provide leadership and mentorship to fellow engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, maintain, and improve user interfaces for the developer portal.

  • Lead projects from specification to post-production support.

  • Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to build new features and enhance existing ones.

  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable code that follows best practices.

  • Constantly improve planning, development, and deployment processes.

  • Ensure the product is current with the latest frontend technologies.

  • Identify and champion opportunities for process and technical improvements in the frontend codebase.

  • Exhibit ownership over frontend codebases and any assigned functionality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • 10+ years of professional experience in frontend engineering, focusing on building modern and intuitive user interfaces.

  • Strong proficiency in modern frontend technologies such as React and TailwindCSS.

  • Experience with complex single-page applications.

  • Understanding of fundamental design principles for responsive and user-friendly applications.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to mentor and coach engineering team members.

  • Experience at a hypergrowth startup is a plus.
